Do not be downcast on account of your miseries your weakness, your repeated failures. They are the very raison d' étre of God's mercies. They are rather ground for confidence than for despondency, provided you try to serve God and do not sin in presumption on His mercy. Your claim for mercy and salvation rests rather on your sins than on your justice.
